I’m a huge believer in win-win situations. Everything should be pursued in such a way that all parties stand to win.
And this definitely applies when it comes to creativity and putting out work online. I think friendly competition and ‘rivalry’ is healthy and elevates everyone. This is one of the main ideas behind this collective Substack and my community- by rubbing shoulders, interacting and collaborating everyone gets better and has more fun. If it is ‘We’ rather than ‘I’ then any one of us succeeding means that we all get to share in that.
A rising tide lifts all boats.
And it is for this reason that I am always happy to share my platform and audience and to try and spread the wealth as much as possible.
Which is why instead of offering you a new piece of work here today I am instead using this space to announce the upcoming launch of
a new literary helmed by STSC regular and set to feature writers such as Zack Grafman, James Carran, Brady Putzke and Frank Kidd. The first issue will be released on Monday, July 3rd, 2023.
I implore all of you to subscribe. This is going to be something special. I can feel it.
Enjoy.
The Pulp, Pipe, & Poetry Magazine serves to entertain and enrich the lives of readers with imaginative works of fiction, strong commentary, and refined lifestyle curation. We are a small band of pulp writers and itinerant gentlemen inspired by those who came before us during the age of cheap thrills for a penny-a-word. Welcome to the new age of the journeyman author.
This magazine serves as a refuge for the wandering soul who likes their fiction fast paced, unapologetically pulpy, and teetering on the border of the Weird. Our readers will also enjoy various fringe music commentary, and exquisite poetry while enjoying a wide range of short stories, essays, and refined leisure recommendations for their reading pleasure.
Pour yourself an after-dinner drink and sit back in your favorite comfy chair, as your mind embarks on a written journey to ignite your soul.
Welcome!
Thank you, Tom. We really appreciate you supporting us and sharing our new venture with your readers. STSC serves as our foundation and helps me set the vision for what is possible for a ragtag group of writers centered on one goal. And of course, you'll still receive short stories from me every now and then. Many thanks!
It pays to be the Don’s friend.
