I moved away from the states, to the plaças of Catalunya, and it's worked out for me, but I don't recommend this to anyone unless they have a reason beyond wanting a "nice set up". In the long run, unless you are invested in the culture around you, unless you are willing to integrate, it won't work past the first 4 or 5 years. It takes around 10 months to learn the language, and around 10 years to understand the people. There's no getting around this.

There is this fine balance between embracing our reality and merely putting up with it. I have a rule of thumb, if I’m on a rut for one year and feel the same through the four seasons then it’s not a seasonal thing. Something needs to happen, change is a must. But while figuring out what needs to be changed, I also am very intent on finding out what needs to stay, because we are very bad at spotting the problem.

But u to your text was on seasonal circumstances, the sort that allow us to see what is it that truly keep us going, the things that we could never give up. Lovely read.

Growing where you are is vital because no matter how far you run, you can never outrun yourself! Beautiful piece.
